nomorerack Retail Group Inc. is looking for Purchasing Specialists to join our growing team. If you are obsessed with products be it clothing, shoes, electronics, home, kids items etc.. and know how to negotiate a great deal, then we are looking for you. This position will work closely with our Purchasing Team to drive overall performance of their merchandise categories. The successful candidate will be a team player who is organized, assertive, and resourceful with good communication skills (written and spoken). If you are a proven self-starter who can problem solve on-the-fly with an analytic mind for managing your revenues then we want to hear from you.

nomorerack is an ecommerce site - an online shopping destination for those who want quality products for their every day life at prices up to 90% off retail. We offer authentic designer merchandise as well as non-branded trendy items offering our customers variety -- through limited-time, daily deals & events. We specialize in Daily Deal Categories, such as: Men, Women, Children, Shoes, Handbags, Beauty, Home, Electronics, Entertainment, Travel, Pets and Lifestyle. This position is full-time, based out of New York.

Position Overview:

  • Assigned categories should be considered "real estate" that each individual is responsible for and expected to manage in order to maximize sales and gross profit.
  • Purchasing for assigned categories based on mass appeal for our target audience.
  • Purchasing team is to work together in a collaborated effort to ensure success as a whole.
  • Individual and team targets are set to maximize revenues

    Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the sales & gross profit as an individual and as part of purchasing team as a whole
  • Identify brands and products that have a mass customer appeal and will maximize sales volume and traffic to the site.
  • Reach out directly to manufacturers/distributors of brands to obtain best pricing.
  • Work with up and coming brands where their brand is given the opportunity for exposure.
  • Responsible for ensuring documentation for all vendors is on file
  • Ensure items are "sold" correctly through the photography, styling, descriptions etc...
  • Negotiate and source a compelling assortment of product at the best possible price
  • Keep track of gross profit & sales count for assigned categories for the day . Keeping key metrics in mind and monitoring very closely.
  • Vendor relationship management, co-ordinate with supplier to ensure the correct products are delivered to the customer in a timely & accurately manner.
  • Ensure the quality of the product matches the standard we want to deliver.
  • Maintain and usage of an internal portal and calendar with deals and events. This is a very fast-paced position and the successful candidate will need to ensure excellent communication channels are withheld among nomorerack Retail Group core departments and between nomorerack and Suppliers and Customers.

    Qualifications:

  • 3+ years in a sales or buyer position
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of merchandising financials and the ability to manage profitability
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Highly detailed oriented
  • Motivated & self-starter attitude
  • Knowledge and interest in consumer goods
  • Experience in internet merchandising, liquidation/discount retail a plus
  • High level of multitasking
  • Excels in a fast paced work environment
